Lisa, you're right, I'm not a doctor, so I'm not advising, but if it were me, I'd take it for 18 weeks, I think. Chances are, you're going to feel like it worked after twelve weeks, because that's happened in the past. If that wasn't enough to eradicate it, which may be the case, or you may have recaught it from your daughter, then trying a longer round would make sense to me.
