If we can't recommend a doctor, and your own doctor is unconvinced, I would suggest two things. The first suggestion is to call your local hospital's physician referral line and ask for a family practioner or internist who is a D.O. These doctors seem to be a little more open minded than regular MD's. You can also ask if there is a doctor who is into both traditional medicine and more holistic medicine. You might also look at the hospitals website and look for a doctor that way.

The second option would be to check out this site:

http://www.roadback.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/community.sub/subgroup_id/5.html

Email the contact person for your state and ask for a list of doctors. They'll send you a list of doctors who are treating patients who have rheumatoid arthritis with antibiotics. They're open minded enough to do that, and they may be open minded to look at Dr. Hahn's protocol and treat some of their patients with asthma with antibiotics, as well. If there's no contact person listed for your state, go to the message board on their site and ask if anyone knows of a doctor in your state. You may get referrals that way.

If you find a name either of those ways, call their office and ask to speak to their head nurse, asking him or her if the doctor is aware of this and would be open to treating a patient if their history warrants it. Hopefully, they'll be able to give you some information before you go in. Also ask if they take your insurance. You'd be surprised at the number of doctors who are not taking any insurance these days....many of whom seem to jack up their prices rather than bill at the usual and customary rates the insurance companies would have dictated.

I know that seems like a lot of work, but if we don't have a name to provide and your doctor isn't open to this, it's the only other thing I can suggest.

Good luck, and please post names and contact information for doctors if they're not listed here and they're willing to help you.

Maureen
